Many members were eager to get into this weeks TGIF (Thank Goodness It's Forgeday), Forge Hub's bi-weekly event where we hold a large and organized custom game over many parties. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get as many hosts as usual this time, and space was very limited. However, those who signed up very quickly, and got a spot, were able to have a great time. If you weren't able to participate, we hope we will be able to include you next time, but for now, you can take a look at our recap video to see what this week's TGIF was all about!

Each host had the following to say about their TGIF experience:

Matty: Hilarious
I have to say, that if you ever want a competitive game, don't put me and Insane in the same party. We laughed from the first minute until the very end, no surprise that we lost almost every match. Insane decided that he would give us all 'MLG Themed' names, so he named us Duck 1, Duck 2, and Duck 3. Naming himself 'Duck Leader'. For the entire night we hailed military slang at each other, using our codenames. "Duck 3 is hit ! Duck 1 smoke and clear ! Duck 2 has gone A.W.O.L!". The entire night was amazing. It was a great joy to be able to host such a game.

Orangeremi: 12-people-on-Bungie-500
My party was a great success this time. Last time, we only had about 4-5 people. This time I had at least 8 the entire time. At times we had people asking for invites, but we were full. I maxed the party at 12, and it was great. I actually enjoyed it, and felt more like a player then a person that had to have the others play. This TGIF makes me want to do it again.

Iv0ry Snak3: Smooth
My first time hosting was a great experience, there were heaps of laughs, especially at my epic fails on Machu Picchu. The party was great and lag-free as it was intended, and although a couple of people came and we managed to keep 8 people around at all times. although towards the end we enlisted Gunslinger because of his amazing connection, though we still kept the oceanic feel. Thanks to my party for the great day.

L0N3 S0LD13R: Fluctuating
The party started out meagre, only 5 players. But we merged with Orange's party, then separated to take the remainder of the British Party. We played Snow Mice, the highlight of the night. Some daring escapes called for the record books. The competitive games got dull, so we played some other mini games. I left them with Guy Love, loving the night.

T3chnomonkey: Relaxed
After a grand total of two people showed up on time, I was worried about the future of our party, but we alternated playing and inviting people, and managed to get ourselves a full group, with most of my assigned players showing up eventually. Casual Games = win, and we had some pretty deep discussions while were fragging each other on Machu Picchu and Kentucky Tango. We all had lots of fun, favorites were The Lost Chamber, 7th Avenue, and Cat n' Mouse.

Dom Says Oi: Surprising
I hadn't wanted to host a TGIF this round, and the beginning of my party didn't change my mind. Due to my lack of mic (I ended up talking to my party through the shoutbox) I had started inviting people thirty minutes early, so that we could quickly get a game going before 7:30, but only one person from my assigned party showed up by that time. I ended up inviting 7/8 players from the overflow list (2/3 members from my assigned party showed up at later times) so we could finally start a game. After that horrible intro to the TGIF, though, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My party was overall polite, had enjoyed playing the maps that I decided upon, and no one ever told me "Give me party lead so we can play my map!", which was a pleasant surprise from custom games. We focused on competitive games but mixed in a Tremors or Snow Mice here and there to add a little variety. I ended up anding an hour early (10:30) due to my extreme fatigue lately, but my party was alright with that. I gave party leader to another member of the party and happily left to theater to take some awesome videos. Good times.

LIGHTSOUT225: Success
A rocky start had me kinda nervous, as we only had 6 players for a couple games, and some connection issues forced me to drop one. But that didn't last long, as more of us started to show up. We rolled with 8-10 for most of the night, and had an awesome mix of competitive battles and casual, yet still very competitive, laughs. Once again I think Snow Mice/Cat n Mouse and Tremors were the favorites. I think we set the unofficial record for quickest multi-flag game on Duality so far, 1:40. That was fun for my team at least, lol. We had a nice mix of some of the older and the newer, it was a lot of fun. Great session guys our party rocked

Draw the Line: Bumpy
It was my first time hosting a TGIF event, and just about everything that could go wrong technically, did. A little more than an hour before the event started, both my internet connection and my Xbox 360 died. I quick fixed my internet connection and my friend luckily lent me his system and played with me through the event (for those wondering why I had a guest). I only had a handful of maps in the hard drive I was using, so my party really stepped it up with having downloaded some of the classics. I think I was one of the only party leaders who had a great initial turnout, so thanks to everyone who showed! There were several great moments in just about every game, and I enjoyed talking with many of you in between matches. (sorry I haven't cleared a few spots on my friends list, I'll do it when I get my new 360). So even though I had a bumpy start to the event, I still managed to have a great time. I will certainly be hosting additional TGIF events in the future.
