Now, these papers I have here, tell me that your last Saturday Night Fight was... 9 months ago? Boy, a lot can happen in 9 months. But no worries, ol' Tedium's here to change that. And this week, we mark the beginning of many more Saturday Night Fight's to come!

Forge Hub vs. Halo Customs

This week, we kicked it off with a match against the newly started website known as Halo Customs. But you know what's really bizarre? Well... I don't know, I guess I'll let you guys figure it out ;)

Things started off hot and heavy, as the Halo Customs team popped their Spartan's into the lobby, outnumbered by a bristling crowd of Forgehub warriors. However, numbers were soon evened out, leaving the following players for the first round:

[l-col]Forge Hub - The Chubs

Nutduster
Berb
Skisma
xAudienceofone[/l-col][r-col]Halo Customs - The Stums

Tedium (Davastan)
o Nondual o
MockKnizzle
MickRaider (Vincent Torre)[/r-col]

Game 1

Infinity Slayer on Lotus

This one started intense, on the first map featured by Forge Hub for Halo 4, Lotus. As everyone warmed up, we thought we'd take things slow and grease our engines with some nice and simple Infinity Slayer.

Everyone heads out to the main battlegrounds. But where's Nutduster?

Oh, there he is! Just you know, killing me, as usual. Wait, why am I blue?

Watch out, xAudienceofone!

Just for lols

However, the Halo Customs team was just too majestic and too beautiful to lose on their first match, greedily snatching the win for Round 1. It was close, but not quite close enough!

Final Score

Team Forgehub
500
Halo Customs 600

Game 2

Team Regicide on Fallen City

Now this is a map which everyone loved.

Everyone loved it so much.

So much.

Well, I liked it, at least.

Thanks to 343i a few months ago, we've been gifted the wonderful Team Regicide gametype, a personal favorite of mine. I'll admit, this match was pretty heavily weighted towards Halo Customs, as the Blue team starts off with a noticeably more defensible side of the map that the Reds. Oh well! We'll just have to balance out the 'Unfair' next round...!

Now this was a beautiful moment to behold, especially so when you're not the one dying. As you can see here, Nutduster's epic survival fest starts off shakily, as all of them do, as he unknowingly turns the corner on an enemy

But the cavalry soon arrive, beating down the enemy king, against all odds!

Unfortunately, that single survival streak was outweighed by the surgical and methodical killing of our beloved Reds, giving Halo Customs another win. I know, I know, the map was unbalanced. Let's see if we can balance that out a bit in the next round...

Halo Customs 300

Game 3

Capture the Flag on Bleached

Having won the last two rounds, Halo Customs started feeling cocky. So when xAudienceofone switched out to allow for some new Chubs, TransactionZero and cluckinho10 switched in, making the next round a 5 vs. 4. Halo Customs welcomed this, so sure that they could hold off on the onslaught.

But now the tables have turned, and Halo Customs have bitten off more than they can chew.

TransactionZero just barely dodges a shot from o Nondual o. I mean, just look at it!

Quickly making use of his Incendiary Cannon, Nutduster takes him out!

And the rest, really, speaks for itself

A complete slaughter of those arrogant 'Stums brings them down more than a few pegs. Let's give it up for the staff, as they begin their comeback. But will it be enough to carry them the rest of the ditance?

Final Score

Halo Customs 2

Game 4

Infinity Slayer on Boomerang

With the 'Chubs dropping back down to four members after their embarrassingly glorious victory, things started heating up on the Boomerang battleground. Boomerang starts off really interestingly, with both teams on opposite sides of a destructible shield door. Hilarity ensues.

Some say there's too much glass. Others say the sightlines are terrible. I replied, "Yeah, welliahdhdsffgh, so..." True story.

The Berb's jetpack and rockets combo was devastating! Of course, The Stums accepted it like gentlemen, with nary a complaint... Okay fine, that story was a total lie. We raged. Badly.

This moment was pretty awesome, as we ended up killing each other at the exact same time. Eerie, I know.

Either TransactionZero's got a very strong hand, or that Blue is walking up the wrong side of the map

But as the clock started ticking down, and the scores were neck and neck, it all came down to a melee battle between a Red and a Blue. Fists were exchanged and hearts raced as teammates watched on in helpless horror.

Before long, the Blue whips out his assassination knife!

So close! Just... so close... but our heroes win the crown on yet another match, bringing the scores up to a nail-bitingly close tie.

Final Score

Team Forgehub
600
Halo Customs 590

Game 5

1-Site Extraction on Adrift

So here we are. The tie-breaker. The point where everything comes down to who shoots the better gun, who throws the most grenades, and who throws the most grenades. To avoid any chance of a custom map ruining the tie-breaker, the last round took place on 343i's very own Adrift. And let me be the one to tell you: this was a real sweat-breaker.

So let's do this.

Skisma: Smile for the camera!

I just don't even that well because that's just not really a for happened there?

Kill. Convert. Teabag. All happening at once. Meanwhile Vincent Torre begs for reprieve

Sure he looks like he's showing you a magic trick, but like many magicians, he's got a hidden dagger up his sleeve

Let me just take a moment to tell you that by this point, the teams are 100% tied each with 4 points out of 5. The final extraction site shimmers to life, and everyone makes a rush to delta.

It was a fearsome struggle. Grenades were tossed in sweet succession, turning the extraction site into a suicidal no-man's land. There were tears, friends holding fallen friends and everything. It got real emotional. Each team spent as much time as the other in control of the point, but in the end, Team Forgehub held it for the longest!

The moment that won the game for The Chubs

Halo Customs 4

And that's the story of the battle between Forgehub and Halo Customs! You all should be proud! You got your flour, added some sweet eggs, poured some humility in there, a dash of reality, and a whole lot of butt kicking, preheated the oven to 350°F, baked until golden brown, then let it cool, cut it into four and served up some sweet juicy servings of Humble Pie! I hear Forgehub makes them good.

Commiserations to Halo Customs, and thanks for playing. Having fought for them, I gotta say they're all fantastic guys, and it was loads of fun to play with them. If you haven't already, be sure to check that place out! Just remember where you belong ;) Until next time! And I can tell you, it will surely be soon. Bye!
