We start this article with something other than a recap; a message from TGIF Host xSharpshooter94

I love this community. It has given me so much, and I have made every effort during my time here and my time as a colored member, to give back half as much. I have been the butt of many a joke and made some very good friends here (they know who they are). I love the site, the people, the game, everything. It is for that reason, however, that I feel I must step down as a TGIF loyal. At one point, I would've hit myself for saying that. Now I feel that I cannot give what I believe this site deserves. I am having difficulty balancing what I have to do for colleges and my last year of high school, and I don't feel that I can do this anymore. I would like to thank everyone who I have met along the way though. From my friends in the Hub Pub, to all of you who came out to my TGIF's. You guys are what kept me here for so long. You guys made me laugh until I cried and made nights on Xbox, some of the most fun I've had. I will still be around, but not as much as I would like. I plan on perhaps reclaiming my title as TGIF loyal eventually, but until then, you may just catch me on Xbox, playign some customs, or some MW3 with friends. So, to quote a few cliche endings, "I'll Be back", "That'll do Pig" and, of course, " Wake me, When you need me."

Sincerely yours,
Sharp

P.S. Loyal Pl0x?

Your efforts will be greatly missed, sir. Thanks for your service.

Now on to the nitty gritty:

TGIF 29 Recap

WELL! Now that Ive finnaly got my finals finalized, its time to put the final touches on TGIF 29 by writing the recap. You might have noticed me using the word "final" alot. That is because this was probably my FINAL lobby this year. I am going on christmas vacation, and wont be back till TGIF 32. SAD FACE! I may host for TGIF 30, but that is a big maybe.

And on to the recap.

The party started early and ended early. I was dancing the night away on friday, So I wanted to get to sleep earlier. We started off with, as usual, Crash up derby. Nothing special there, but worth mentioning that that is how I start all my lobbies.

WARTHULK SMASH!

Next, I decided to revisit an old classic of mine, Sand Bridge. I have now decided to let this project slide into the "only show to non-forgers" category. After gaining alot of experience in forging, I can see that sand bridge is really not a great map. We did have a fun game on it though. My personal acheivements? Be the bullet and a sniper rifle overkill. BOOM headshot!

Let the bodies hit the Floor.

4 shots. 4 kills. Reload. And repeat.

Then we played a nice little assult game on Comms array, one of my more "proffesionally" forged maps. Just worth mentioning because the ghost combat on this game was really great. Hijack, rehijack, splatter, armour lock 'splsions, ext. Really fun stuff!

I iz on ur ride
stealing your ghost

Tutui: THE GHOST DRIVER IS STEALING MY GHOST! (dives)
Mocknizzle: (splatters tutui)

And we finished up with some Left 4 Dead maps as a final game. I was on top the whole game, until burninginwater decides to join and steal my shotgun *grumble grumble.*

12 Gague. The zombie apocalipse weapon of choice.

So that about wraps it up! Check the sign-ups for #30 to see if Im hosting, and if not, than Merry Christmas and a happy New year to all!

Ps. Thats right- Merry christmas, not "happy holidays". Sue me.

Hello all once again! This week was fairly good, but not as good as before, I dropped the lobby right around two hours after the start; this week's party died down much faster than the others I've had unfortunately, but I still did have some great fun and laughs and whatnot. This party grew fairly fast from about six to a sturdy sixteen by around the third game, and settled at around the twelve player mark at average. While the party was up, it was pretty fun with a talkative party playing anything and everything I had to offer. We played things like Hog-Derby Sky High, Skull Cave, and race maps like Kanto, The Mine, and 'Round the Island, which I'm pretty sure all were in the Fast and the Forge contest. The lobby ended with around five people playing random games, like some sort of battleship game my friend had (not the popular battleships game), and a random invasion map. After that, I passed leader and disbanded the lobby. I also learned something very important this week, which I will not be disclosing anytime soon.
As far as pictures go, I have pictures of the maps, unfortunately no action shots because temporary history is a bastard (as long as a broken controller). So here are some pics:

Well this is my recap for TGIF 29, I hope to see you in TGIF 30! Since my finals won't be killing me next week, I promise a great lobby! See ya guys!

well we didnt play any Halo Anniversary but it was fun testing maps and raceing.

Well, well, well <-- Three holes in the ground

Anyways, lame joke aside, last TGIF was nothing short of epic. Starting the night off as I often do with some crash up derby proved once again to be a success but it was about 30 minutes later when the party really started as for a test I put on some smooth Jupiter Jazz:

Note to self, don't play anything that involves skill with Black Theorem. You get used to hearing the respawn counter very quickly...

After a few more mini games including revball, FWOT, Stealin your Flags and other classics, the party moved onto more competitive gametypes. A couple of smaller yet to be released maps from the party were played first and while all had their flaws, they all also had their ceilings (cwutididthar). A quick game of FFA slayer on Winterfell and we were back on minigames:

Amazingly, he survived the collision

At this point almost four hours were up and it was past midnight so I finished up with a game of Cat n Mouse which featured the amazing burrowing mongoose and I handed over to CryptoKid who put on Clue which I really enjoyed as I hadn't played it before.

This was my second ever officially hosted TGIF lobby, and my first in almost a year. Things went very well. We started about an hour early, and played infection and rocket race until we got up to the designated player count of 12. We enjoyed a game of "rocket race" on BurningThunder4's Frontier, a map which has always supported the gametype well.

Bottomless-clip-concussion-rifle-race

Now nearing our player cap, we played on a rather spooky map called Parallex, recent entrant of the Hub of the Dead II contest.

Shouldn't it be spelled "Parallax"?

Now that we had 12 players, we began playing the big team games the lobby was created for. We started off on the Flying-Duck-Knizzle map pack, playing Embarcadero, Metropolis, and S by FlyingShoeILR, MockKnizzle008, and myself respectively.

Embarca-whatsit

Headlong's little brother

Definitely not a "Z", or a "2"

Next, we moved onto some other great BTB maps. The first of these was Hivemind by Nutduster. We then played a game on The Hushed Apprentice by Bones, a map that I'd been aching to play for months.

Bee-brained

A quiet padawan

After this, we began testing some maps provided by players in the party. We played Sandbar by Firedune, Lateral by Noooooch, Port Authority by MockKnizzle and myself, along with a few others. Throughout the night, we also played invasion on Boneyard and Spire. Finally, we played a game on Cargo Port, as it's tradition to do so as far as I'm concerned.

A flying shoe

Finally, after about five hours of customs, I turned lead over to someone and left. Shoe and I had a little after-party where we did, well, I'm not entirely sure what we did, but it looked like this.

The fifth dimension

I hope everyone enjoyed playing customs, I also hope that everyone enjoyed my (according to Loscocco) "very deep and erotic voice". You guys were awesome, I never had to kick anyone, or punch them, or even slap them. I didn't even have a chance to counter-troll anyone! Thanks for joining, hopefully I'll host another one of these soon.

I hope you all enjoyed the recap. I'd like to thank all the hosts that made this article possible. If you'd like to host a TGIF or contribute to a host's recap, check out the next Site Update for information. Finally, if you want to be part of the best games night in town, make sure to hit up next week's TGIF Sign Up thread!
