2v2 Throwdown Loser Bracket Finals

Week 13 of the tournament brings only a single match; the Loser Bracket Finals. Team Pikachu have proven to be true Sunday-Warriors, charging their way through the Loser Bracket after being knocked out of the Winner Bracket back in Round 4, during the group stages. The latest in their line of LB casualties include Forge Hub regulars Shad0w Viper, Rorak Kuroda and Rho Fs. Immolate, the team coming in off a loss in the Winner Bracket Finals, can also claim victory over the latter pair, and had an untarnished record until Round 12 of the tournament, which should make for an interesting matchup as both of these teams sit on the edge of elimination after getting so far.

The Loser Bracket Final also has a dedicated map release in the form of Replicant, a stunning arena built in the dark of the coliseum, with a further map penned in solely for the Grand Finals. You can find more on that below, along with the links to Replicant and the Throwdown gametype.

As always, we would like to emphasise how it is each team's responsibility to do all they can to contact and organise a time with their opponents, as in cases where the match is not played it is in your interests to prove that you made every effort possible, thereby avoiding the forfeit. We would also like to remind contestants that any issues or complaints made against an opponent should (if relevant) be accompanied by a saved film of the game in question, uploaded to a file share and linked in the message. Complaints, issues or questions can be sent in a Personal message to myself. For convenience, here are the links to the gametype and map for the Loser Bracket Finals:

Grand Finals map - Reconcile

Reconcile was universally popular amongst those involved in the design and judging of the map pool, its simple but incredibly solid approach to a fast paced symmetrical environment focusing more on highly refined horizontal play rather than the newfound focus on verticality that has been seeing a resurgence with Forge in Reach. Since then, BT and Reflex's latest offering has gone through some significant changes, with the lower area being heavily remodelled and a whole new space added at the back of the map, where Sniper now spawns. Reconcile is a map truly befitting of the Grand Finals in our 2v2 Throwdown, and we hope more than the two teams which will be fighting on it for first place take the time to download and check it out.
