Ahh yes, tomorrow marks one of my favorite holidays. As a kid I used to love raiding the neighborhoods late at night in hopes of grabbing enough goodies to make a pool of candy; this year I'm planning on seeing Paranormal Activity 3 with my girlfriend. There's only one problem, Skarlett. Anyone care to babysit?

But don't get ahead of yourself. None of the results in this term are Halloween themed maps, there's a whole separate contest for that. This round we have two small maps and one large scale map. The ironic similarity between these three is that they all have a custom gametype that is recommended when playing on them. Let's get on with the results shall we?

The Hushed Apprentice by Bones

After numerous attempts to get into the voting stage by FlyingShoe, The Hushed Apprentice finally makes a name for itself scoring first place! Bones had a genius idea when designing this environment, using the island to remake the classic island level from Halo: CE, The Silent Cartographer. Set up for Invasion, the Spartans start off on the beach and must push their way through Elite forces to retrieve the data core that rests inside a Covenant stronghold. The Sangheili have a simple, yet challenging task; stop the Spartans at all costs. If you're a fan of Invasion then The Hushed Apprentice is something you'll definitely enjoy! Don't forget to grab the gametype as well.

Lux by AceOfSpades Rorak Kuroda

Shortly after the release of their map pack, Kuroda and Spades were definitely the talk of the town. The pack was so big that all three maps made it to the voting stage; however, only one racked up enough points to make it to the finals. Lux has proven to be the favorite as it took second place this this term. This asymmetric arena offers multiple levels of height variation and teleporters. The cave tunnel on one end makes for great player orientation as well as the other unique structures throughout. If you love 1v1/2v2 maps then Lux is right in your alley; oh yea, don't forget the gametype Iridescence.

subterrane. by Blaze & alreadyRogue

A few weeks ago Blaze and Rogue released a map highly focused from the game Quake. The final map for show n' tell this week is none other than subterrane. This level is as small as they come, having only two rooms connected by two hallways and an underground tunnel. By designing such an acute play space, the two were able to use a ton of their budget towards aesthetics. If Quake was a game you once enjoyed, then I suggest downloading subterrane. And if you really want to re-live those days, pick up the gametype Mircoseism.

Ok the results are over, now hurry up and finish making your costumes for tomorrow! ...or download these maps and play the hell out of them! Also, make sure to give these fine men a pat on the back for their recognition. Also also, don't forget to nominate for the next round. See you guys back in fourteen days. I've got to start looking at showtimes for tomorrow. Aww crap, I still haven't found a sitter!
