2v2 Throwdown Round 11 (LB Only)
Round 11 is the penultimate Loser Bracket Only week, with next week (Round 12) seeing the Winner Bracket Finals and Loser Bracket Semi Finals taking place. From Round 12 onwards, each week will see a new map until the close of the tournament. This week, however, will see another round of games on Acacia. We'd also like to remind players of our request to submit saved films of all games during these final rounds to the Throwdown Media Thread for a round-up montage to be released after the 2v2 Throwdown has ended As many films and PoVs from each game as possible would be great, but any great plays in particular would be very helpful indeed. As usual, the procedure for Round 11 is as follows:
Matches for Round 11 have now been posted in the Championship Loser Bracket Board.
If you were in the Winners Bracket during Round 10 and won your match, you continue in the Winners Bracket and don't have to play in Round 11.
If you were in the Winners Bracket during Round 10 and lost your match, you move down to the Losers Bracket for your Round 11 match.
If you were in the Losers Bracket during Round 10 and won your match, you continue in the Losers Bracket.
If you were in the Losers Bracket during Round 10 and lost your match, you have been eliminated from the tournament.
You must organise your match in your designated match thread, the proper process for which is detailed in the thread. Remember, matches are best of 3 games, all of which must use the official Throwdown gametype on the specified map for the respective round.
Matches must be played and the results posted (with Bungie.net game link as proof) by Midnight EST on Sunday the 23rd of October.
As always, we would like to emphasise how it is each team's responsibility to do all they can to contact and organise a time with their opponents, as in cases where the match is not played it is in your interests to prove that you made every effort possible, thereby avoiding the forfeit. We would also like to remind contestants that any issues or complaints made against an opponent should (if relevant) be accompanied by a saved film of the game in question, uploaded to a file share and linked in the message. Complaints, issues or questions can be sent in a Personal message to myself. For convenience, here are the links to the gametype and map for Round 9, which are the same as they were for Round 8:

Round 12 map - Skylimit
Whilst it will only be used for one round, rather than the usual two, but it will see some of the hottest competition in the whole tournament with the Loser Bracket Semi Finals and the Winner Bracket finals. By Round 12, only two teams will remain without a loss, and Skylimit will see their standoff, from which only one team will emerge unbeaten to head in to the Grand Finals with the upper hand.
Featuring a suitably vertical design, Skylimit balances the advantageous high ground positions with clever use of Large Braces to give that Goldilocks amount of cover which maintains the purpose of these vantage points without making them too comfortable. This also results in a certain danger in spending too much time up top when your setup is under pressure, as the side-to-side cover is similarly sparse. Dual Sniper Rifles and an Active Camo powerup provide solid incentives to control the lower ground as well, with Rockets providing the customary point of conflict at Top Mid. Once again, Sky Limit will only be played for one week, so be sure to get your fill during this practice week and Round 12!

http://www.astrogaming.com/Round 11 marks a momentus point in the 2v2 Throwdown: we're now under a month (4 weeks to be precise) away from crowning our two champions and bringing the tournament to a close. Consider, however, the inverse relationship between number of matches and awesomeness of said matches. Keep an eye out on the Throwdown Media Thread if you'd like to get a sneak peak of what's likely to appear in the post-tournament video festivities, as well as those who have tasty tidbits of content to submit. The prize isn't so far off now, so close you can almost taste it. Almost, but not quite. After all, why would you taste a headset? That's just odd.
If you have any thoughts on this article, or the front page in general, that you would like to share with us then we invite you to post your opinions in the Front Page Feedback thread.
