TGIF has due cause to feel a little put out, being shuffled around as it has between a couple of us over the past few weeks. We'd like to apologise to both our hosts and participants for their patience in the face of late sign up and recap threads, and thank those who have stuck with us. In the vein of getting things back on track, we hope you enjoy TGIF 22 which will run on Friday the 2nd of September.

TGIF hosts will review the signups in order to determine who will be interested in their party. You must send the party leader a message on XBL at the start of the party asking for an invite. This is to secure a position in the party. You will be invited on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, parties will remain open to make joining easier. If you are not able to join and you do not receive an invite, the party is closed. Please do not continuously send messages to hosts.

Don't got no title

Host's Gamertag: Blood Gulch 7
Start Time: 4:00pm EST
End Time: Whenever I feel like ending it
Rules:

Try to be mature. That does not mean age, kids.
Don't ask for leader. If I'm out of maps, I will give leader either to you or someone else in the party.
If you want to play a specific map, tell me. I'm not a huge fan of minigames, Invasion, Casual, or BTB gametypes, but I can stand them to a point.

Schedule:

I'm predicting the party to start off slow, so we'll likely start off with some 2v2 maps. Feel free to join mid-game. The more players I have, the more possible variety in the maps I can play. Once we get to 8 players, we'll start playing MLG, some remakes of maps you may remember, and some nicely balanced competitive maps.

Other Notes:

If you like or dislike a map, please give any feedback you have. This will give me a better idea of what players want, and will allow me to provide you with a better TGIF experience next time.

I will have "TGIF:" in front of most maps we will play. I will only do this with maps that I already know are good. If it doesn't have "TGIF:" in front of the name, don't expect an amazing map. I will remove the "TGIF:" in front of the name if the map receives poor or average feedback.

The party will remain open at all times. I will try to remain at 8 players, but may go up to 10, or even higher, depending on what map I plan to play and if there are more players requesting to join than the amount that I have restricted it to.

I am not totally against non-MLG gametypes, contrary to what the community believes about me. If you want to play something other than what I plan to play, tell me. I will play most non-MLG games by request only, but I may decline your request or play some without anyone requesting.

Please don't rage-quit. If you see a problem with the map or team balance, tell me. If it's too serious, I'll end the game. All quitting does is make it harder on me. It's not going to be easy for me to find more players, so try to remain in the game.

I'm not hosting to appeal to the majority. I've noticed a lack of true competitive games at any of the Reach TGIF's. I'm mostly trying to appeal to a more competitive crowd, but don't be afraid to join if you're a casual player.

If I run out of games and there are no maps available from the rest of the party, I may run MM 8's. This may be MLG or Arena.

I do not have a mic, so please follow the rules and try to use common sense to guide you to an answer. If I do not start the game, it means I am sending a text message to someone. I will only do this if it is an important and valid question, as I obviously cannot answer all of your questions due to the time it takes for me to send these text messages.

Try to have the Noble Map Pack. We may be playing a few non-Forge World maps. This includes variants of Tempest, Anchor 9, Zealot, Countdown, Powerhouse, and possibly a few more that I have forgotten. Yes, I said Powerhouse, but trust me, this variant is good.

I've said this before, but MLG does not mean a game filled with many trash talking tryhards criticizing you for every move you make. This was a stereotype created by newer players who wandered into the MLG playlist, then based their opinion off of the few games they had in there. Most of them are actually very respectful people. Well-known examples of "true" MLG community members include a Polish Korean, Fritzster, and Controlix.

I may have had a few too many notes there, so I'll just end it now. Sorry for taking up so much space in your thread, Pegasi. /END
