2v2 Throwdown Round 4

For those of you who triumphed in your Winners Bracket Round 2 matches; we hope you enjoyed your week off as this week will see all noses firmly back at the grindstone. Both the Winners Bracket and Losers Bracket will be playing during Round 4, which also means we've got a new map in play. Whilst we're on the subject of maps, be sure to check out the download link for Hellium 1.1 below, this is an updated version of Hellium and must be downloaded for use in place of the originally released version in Round 4 matches. For those of you who are yearning for a break in the symmetrical offerings of the first 3 rounds, Hellium will be right up your urban thoroughfare of choice. We hope you took full advantage of the week's practice time available, especially since Hellium will be in use for the next 2 rounds. Whether you're coming in well rested from a WBR2 match or hot off a LBR3 match, the process remains the same as always:

  • Matches have now been posted in the Bracket Boards. Your group remains the same as in previous rounds.

  • If you were in the Winners Bracket during Round 2 and won your match, you continue in the Winners Bracket.

  • If you were in the Losers Bracket during Round 3 and won your match, you continue in the Losers Bracket.

  • If you were in the Losers Bracket during Round 3 and lost your match, you have been eliminated from the tournament.

  • You must organise your match in your designated match thread, the proper process for which is detailed in the thread. Remember, matches are best of 3 games, all of which must use the official Throwdown gametype on the specified map for the respective round.

  • Matches must be played and the results posted (with Bungie.net game link as proof) by Midnight EST on Sunday the 4th of September.

As always, would like to emphasise how it is each team's responsibility to do all they can to contact and organise a time with their opponents, as in cases where the match is not played it is in your interests to prove that you made every effort possible, thereby avoiding the forfeit. We would also like to remind contestants that any issues or complaints made against an opponent should (if relevant) be accompanied by a saved film of the game in question, uploaded to a file share and linked in the message. Complaints, issues or questions can be sent in a Personal message to myself.

Once again, here are the map and gametype links for your convenience. Please be sure to redownload Hellium as slight changes have been made since the initial release:

Until then, why not take a look at our Throwdown Media submission process if you feel you've snagged a kill or two, perhaps even a whole game, that is worth a watch. Come the end of the tournament, your clips may even make it in to a front page video extravaganza to showcase the most epic moments of the 2v2 Throwdown. Screenshots are also more than welcome, so be sure to save your games as you progress through the tournament in the hopes of capturing that epic moment on film.

Keep your eyes on the prize and as always, good luck!
