It’s about that time again my friends: the time in which children line the morning streets with backpacks full of papers and pencils, books and binders, and a face full of tired as they wait patiently for their bus to take them to the place we all know and love, school. Whether you’re headed back to grade school, high school, college, or not, this here is the last site update of good ol’ summer, we’ll miss you dear friend, we’ll miss you.

Fret not however, with Halo: Reach’s title update immanent, the reworking of our beloved Halo: Combat Evolved, and our very own 2v2 Throwdown Competition; things will be everything but boring in this little corner of the Internet. We may not be able to discuss the details to come within any of the subjects at hand, but rest assured you’ll get a face-full of information as it becomes available.

Color Swap

First and foremost, be sure to commemorate What's A Scope on the wonderful job he has done over the past forever in his previous position here on ForgeHub. He's decided to jump back into the good ol' pool of gray that ForgeHub has to offer and I'm sure that I don't just speak for myself when I say his name will figuratively remain red in the eyes of us all.

In other news, Bloo Jay has finally switched over to a rank that is actually blue, RedNeck went back to a rank that is a shade of red, and I feel slightly awkward to mention myself, especially being that I don't have a pun involving a colour, but I must.

The Review Hub

The Review Hub portion of the TRC guild is where aspiring map creators and veterans alike go to get thorough, professionally written reviews on any posted map of their choosing. We all know that the best kind of feedback is truthful, constructive criticism from a neutral party, and that is exactly what the Review Hub is here to give you. Don’t get too excited though, the Review Hub is known to hand out a fair amount… firm suggestions. Whether it be generalized about flow, spawning, weapon choices or any other aspect of map design, don’t take a complaint as a personal blow, they’re doing this to help you in the long run. Compliments may have their rightful place within any review, but don’t expect a candy-coated joy ride.

At this very moment the Review Hub is working overtime trying to catch up with all of the review requests they have accumulated the last few months, that being said, they are currently not accepting map review requests until October first. You're more than welcome to help the process along if you'd like, if you enjoy playing Halo and reviewing maps, go take a look at this thread here, you just might have what it takes to be the next big reviewer. Also be sure to congratulate the fellas over in the Hub about the work they've put forward, as of this moment right now they've reviewed one hundred Halo: Reach maps. Way to go guys!

Cubeskew 2: Skewed Easier : 6.0/10 - Organite & Sgt Surchin
Salvation : 5.0/10 - Organite
Sierra : 6.3 - That Scorch Guy
Templum : 7.1/10 - That Scorch Guy
Diadem : 7.3/10 - PacMonster1 & Caucasian Invasion If you ever have any suggestions about ways to improve the Review Hub, feel free to suggest it to either Organite or Tedium, via Private Message.

The Tester's Guild

On the other side of mirror stands another staple of the TRC guild, the Tester’s Guild. Here you’ll find a large number of Hubbers ready to sit down and play your newly beta-phased map hoping to help you define it further. The guys in the Tester’s Guild may have personalized opinions, but each is capable of giving you input both on things they enjoyed and disliked about your map, helping you achieve ultimate perfection before you post your gray-scale battlefield here in our map database.

Should you want them to give your map a run through, redirect your browser to this forum here, read the posting guidelines, and set yourself up for success through the men at work behind the scenes in the Tester’s Guild. Enjoy playing Halo? Enjoy giving map creators input? Work for the Guild! More information is available here.

Thank God It's Forge-Day

Every so often (every other Friday to be exact) a selection of fine individuals from our forums host an evening full of customs. Depending on what those individuals choose to host, whether it be competitive, casual, infection, invasion, mini-game oriented or a mix of them all is up to them, but it's up to you which of these lobbies you join. If you'd like to host your own official lobby for our next TGIF, send a private message to Pegasi with all the details below filled out. Also note that you'll also be on your way to your very own pretty-in-purple rank of TGIF Host, should you make this a bi-weekly habit, of course.

Winners and Losers

http://www.astrogaming.com/ForgeHub's 2v2 Throwdown Competition is currently underway and is rolling seamlessly thus far! The Grey Corner

This is probably gonna be a one-off, since I cant find another place in the article to mention it, but a certain Sarge has alerted me to another site that can aid us in our world domination - Formspring. I've taken the time to sticky his thread in the Customs Lobby for questions and discussions, but I'll do a quick explanation here. Just go to formspring.me/ForgeHub, type in some info about your customs lobbies that will commence now or in the future, and Sarge or BT will handle the rest.

I'm just going to assume that this is the step that's hidden with question marks, so I didn't pursue it with them.

QOTSA

Our last site update article Rorak Kuroda answered Pegasi's question with:

With 343's announcement regarding the Title Update coming at Halo Fest, shortly before the next Site Update, what's one single thing you'd like to see included in this patch?

For a serious answer;

Get rid of lights on all of the forge objects.

For a non-serious answer;

I'd like to see an automatic 1v1 entrapment machine. Anyone who sends me stupid message insulting me when I win would be teleported into a customs lobby with me, where he would be forced to play 1v1s against me until he died of shame and dehydration.

That being said, ForgeHub, if you could choose one non-traditional instrument to be blessed with ridiculous skill on, what would that be?

Until Next Time, fare thee well.

If you have any thoughts on this article, or the front page in general, that you would like to share with us then we invite you to post your opinions in the Front Page Feedback thread.
