As Bungie, the legendary creators of the Halo Universe, make their leave of the Halo franchise and open the doors to 343 Industries; Halo: Reach itself approaches it’s first birthday; We’re yet again gifted another batch of Forge Hub Favorites. Despite the game being out almost a year, we’re still being presented with new piece combinations, layouts, themes, mechanics… and I take much pride in presenting the nominated maps for Forge Hub Favorites XVIII. Not only were the results of this contest unbelievably close, but the fact that frequent discussions were had to almost demand the voting of another map over someone else’s preferred choice indicates the high calibre of maps nominated for the Voting stage…

I felt as being one of the winners, and being unable to decide on who to vote for excluding my own map, that no map in particular should exceed the others in the poll because these are all astonishing maps that deserve the limelight as much as each other. After confirming with a few regular voters that they were in the same predicament, I believe this should be the first Forge Hub Favorites to showcase all who entered the voting stage. Forge Hub, I give you your favorites…

Roundabout by UrbanMyth

It is rumoured that UrbanMyth has not yet released a Halo: Reach map and has been working on Roundabout for quite some time. For something of such high calibre to be presented on their debut release, Roundabout not only brings hours upon hours of competitive enjoyment, it also brings firm assurance that there are still greater maps to come.
Roundabout is an asymmetric wonder that is stationed on the Column of Forge World. Presenting a whole new layout, UrbanMyth provides countless hours of entertainment for all gamers. Whether you’re playing a serious game of Team Slayer DMR’s or rocking out a quick game of KOTH, you’ll surely be left dazzled with dizziness of Urbans Guardian/Lockout inspired rotational wonder.

Diadem by Stevo

Unfortunatey, all the Journalists are a little busy right now. After a few members complained about me writing something about my own maps before, I'll have to go with something generic on this occasion:

It supports Team Slayer, Team King and Multi-Flag really well and is played optimally with teams of four. It's got a cool forerunner theme throughout which makes it visually attractive as well as fun to play.

Basically, I can't tell you about it so download it.

Erasure by BlazeIsGod

Erasure’s high altitude map design will leave you breathless, so please ensure your helmet is securely fastened for optimum breathing facilities. As you progress through Erasure, you’ll soon notice the bridge combat influence from previous maps such as Prisoner and Sword Base. With combined balancing skills of circus folk, BlazeIsGod not only made the map suitable for all armour abilities but this brings strategic choices to an ever expanding table of tactics. Teams decide on how many Jetpackers/armour lockers are required to overcome the enemy. Will you all pick up Jetpacks to ensure your team reach the Rocket Launcher first or will you blend into the distance with the Sniper Rifle at the back of the map? The choice is clearly yours…

Of Legions by LD ♥ and Zneakey

LD ♥ and Zneakey present Of Legions, an infectious map that plagues your face with laughter. Unlike most infection maps, Of Legions supports a small party size of 8 that bare witness to brain-consuming aesthetics and limb-numbing balance that most infection maps simply cannot afford to sustain. They’ve taken the concept of Infection and taken it to the next level of not only producing an entertaining casual game, but solidifying the replayability with a competitive foundation of balance by ensuring no side is ever at an advantage. While playing with Flesh-eating Zombies in the dark is not recommended… Downloading Of Legions is.

Sanction by Zombievillan

Sanction is a remake of Zombievillan's previous map in Halo 3, although after extensive changes, Sanction has become so much more than it’s ancestor map. Zombievillan has created an open-air atmosphere for spacious 4v4 and 5v5 combat. The map itself uses the natural scenery of the Quarry and promotes solid mid-range combat. With an overdose of weapons and grenades, Sanction is likely to give you everything but permission to live.

And that concludes Forge Hub Favorites XVIII. As I’m sure you’ll agree, this rounds winners were tough choices and every once in a while, it’s nice to know no one loses…
