Welcome to April's Site Update! We're trying to bring you these updates fairly regularly by popular demand.
First thing's first, you may have noticed some changes on the site recently. Due to general spam problems and a worsening of community cohesiveness as a whole, we've been forced into rethinking our strategy for the site. As a result, we'd like to announce a joining of two forces to tackle the problem. Last night the senior staff struck a deal with the few guys remaining over at ProForge that allows them access to our large map database and memberlist. In return, we are effectively outsourcing all off topic traffic (with a few other select boards) to them, so that we don't have to deal with it on Forge Hub any longer. As a result, we'll be moving to change the site name to 'Pro Hub' in the near future and merging the sites together more completely.
Overall, we think this is a positive step, and one which will benefit both sites greatly. If you've got any opinions on the changes, we'd love to hear them, as this new policy is open for review from tomorrow onwards.
Practice!?
If Coach tells you that I missed practice, then that's that. I may have missed one practice this year but if somebody says he missed one practice of all the practices this year, then that's enough to get a whole lot started. But I'm tired and I'm hurt too. If I can't practice, I can't practice. It is as simple as that. It ain't about that at all. It's easy to sum it up if you're just talking about practice. We're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we're talking about practice. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game like it's my last but we're talking about practice man. How silly is that? Now I know that I'm supposed to lead by example and all that but I'm not shoving that aside like it don't mean anything. I know it's important, I honestly do but we're talking about practice. We're talking about practice man. We're talking about practice. We're talking about practice. We're not talking about the game. We're talking about practice. When you come to the arena, and you see me play, you've seen me play right, you've seen me give everything I've got, but we're talking about practice right now. We're talking about prac... Hey I hear you, it's funny to me to, hey it's strange to me too but we're talking about practice man, we're not even talking about the game, when it actually matters, we're talking about practice. How the hell can I make my teammates better by practicing?
Post Reporting
The Staff have noticed that there have been an excess of reported post that have already been dealt with. If you see a post and think it's worthy of reporting to the moderators, check the lower right hand corner of the post first. If you see a small yellow or red card image, the post has already been infracted or warned and the report isn't necessary.
Promotions
Rarely does one see promotions flying around like pies in an old comedy movie scene. Fortunately, this hasn't really happened here at Forge Hub lately. Our latest changes in ranks are as follows: Insane54 to Admin, Kapura to Journalist, and our very recently promoted Loyal, DRiSCOLL. In addition, Matty has been returned to a registered user by request, and Tex has been banned for leaking super important staff secrets.
A Return...
Another huge announcement we've got for you is one that few will remember, and for the rest of you it'll hopefully be an exciting shift in how we promote the best material on the front page. The Guilders have returned!
In short, the Forge Hub Guilders are members who are judged to be masters of the art of forge, elevating it to new heights and thrilling all those who experience their work.
Guilders command huge respect around the site, and have the privileged honour of having their maps automatically featured on the site. It goes without saying that their members must be of the highest quality in order to support this new system. The answer is to require potential Guilder candidates to apply for the position. Forge Hub is a democracy of course, and anyone and everyone is freely open to apply. You can do so here. A small handful of Guilders have already been pre-selected.
