Welcome hubbers, new and seasoned; young and old. It's that time of the year again. Do love custom games? Do you love forge maps that bring out the most fun Halo has to offer? Well, it's time once again to determine what the best of the best forged Halo and Far Cry 2 maps are. Will your favorites emerge on top? Vote now (or by February 4th) and come back February 6th for results, and a second round of voting.
With tons of innovations in map editing sprouting up all around us, keeping informed of all the best maps the community has to offer is quite the daunting task. There are more than enough top quality maps to fill a 360's hard drive thrice over, so we're endeavoring to discern the cream of the crop twice yearly. So here it is, in all its glory. You'll notice some newer categories this time around to better distinguish what the best maps are in their respective styles.
The voting will follow a very similar format as the two previous "Best of Forge" competitions. There are several threads named after their own voting category. If you want to nominate a map for a specific category, post in the relevant thread. Here’s a template response:
"I nominate (map name) due to it’s strong qualities - more specifically, (list some details). It can be found here: (map link)"
The first vote counts only as a nomination, and all further votes are counted as one vote. All votes will be counted equally - it doesn't matter how well known you are. To maintain the Best of Forge's integrity and the prestige it carries, the following rules have been implemented. Breaking these rules will leave you subject to strict punishment. The staff will be watching the votes and the voters like hawks. Here are the rules:
The map you nominate or vote for cannot be your own.
The map must have been posted on forgehub.
The map has to have been made between july 1st, 2008 and January 14th, 2009.
All votes and nominations must be serious. If the map you submit is a joke, it will be discarded and ignored. Infractions may follow.
You may only post once in each thread - that post will be your nomination or vote. No spam, and no discussion will take place, only voting.
Please be advised that anyone found creating duplicate accounts in order to spam votes will be furiously permabanned. The staff is watching. Don't do it!

Best Mini-Game Map - Small little game has you playing all day long.
Best Race Map - Vroom vroom.
Best MLG Map - Competitive, right weapon set.
Best Design - Exceptionally planned, and flows very well.
Best Aesthetic Map - Bee eee aye yootiful.
Best Infection Map - Mmmm brai...err, maaaaps
Best Casual Map - It's not a contest to win, just have fun!
Best Technical - Use of switches, or other mechanisms.
Best Slayer Map - Team or ffa slayer.
Best Symmetric Objective - Gridlocked, anyone?
Best Asymmetric Objective - Kentucky Tango re-incarnated.
Best Original Map - Never seen this before!
Best Non-Foundry - Get outta the house...the warehouse.
Best Budgeted Foundry Map - Mind your wallet, show your skills.
Best Overall Halo 3 Map - The most fun, the most competitive, and just the best - all put together in one Halo 3 map!
Best Far Cry 2 Map - Best all-around Far Cry 2 map (Xbox 360)
