2v2 Faceoff - Start of Final Round/Championship Match
The Semi Finals ended on Sunday 7th December 5pm EST / 10pm GMT
The Finals (Championship Match) will end on Sunday the 14th December at 5pm EST / 10pm GMT
The Third Place Playoff will end on Sunday the 14th December at 5pm EST / 10pm GMT
Please Note: This round sees a change to the match set-up in accordance with this being the Championship Match - You play 7 matches - 2 Matches on each of the 3 gametypes, and then another game of Faceoff Slayer. The matches must be played in order once again, meaning that you effectively play a normal round twice over, then a final game of Slayer, ie:
Slayer, 2-flag, KotH, Slayer, 2-flag, KotH, Slayer (basically, this is the order you should play the games in)
This is to ensure that all gametypes are played, thus giving even weighting to them and ensuring that a team does not gain an advantage by winning, say, 3 games of Slayer in a row and then only having to win one more.
If you are confused about any of this, please contact me so that I can try to clear it up.
And so it all comes down to this. Every match so far in the tale of this Faceoff has been but a precursor to this fateful playoff, being as it is the determination of who will be crowned Faceoff Champions. Last round saw some of the most heated competition to date, everyone still present at that time knowing that they had to play their socks off to get their shot at the Championship and prevent all their efforts thus far being in vain. But here we stand, with only 2 teams and 4 players before us, and it is set to be a match of the most epic proportions. Both Bad Kids and Two Magic Hippos have fought long and hard for this chance, and both can take solace in their achievement in getting so far, whatever the outcome may be at the end of this final Faceoff week. Both teams are more than deserving of their place in this Final Match, and both will give it their all to take home the Championship. It really is anyone's game at this point in the proceedings, and we can only look on as this week sees our 4 finalists battle it out to emerge victorious. It will most certainly be a match to remember, not least because it will be more than double the length of any match seen so far in the tournament. This Final Round will consist of 7 games, rather than the usual 3, to give stature befitting to a match of this magnitude. We hope that you will enjoy following this epic playoff as much as we will, and all of us in the Forge Hub Staff extend our most sincere wishes of good luck to both remaining teams. Ladies and gentlemen, fasten your seat belts.

Slate Creek (Final Round, Championship Map)
12 rounds and 1,022 players down. Only 2 teams, and one map stand. What a way to cap off a spectacular tournament than with an absolutely incredible map. Draw the Line does it again with Slate Creek. A map born for doubles, its figure 8 style creates a very natural flow as players circle and wrap around each other in epic bouts. Controlling the center bridge and Spartan Laser will only get you so far. No one weapon or position is too dominant, meaning teamwork is a certain necessity to success.
From a technical aspect, Slate Creek could not have been forged any cleaner. Clean merging and interlocking perfectly complement its stellar gameplay. With great use of elevation and ground cover, Slate Creek's organic layout would have players marveling at their surroundings had their virtual lives not been in constant danger. In short, Slate Creek is about as close to perfect as a 2v2 map can possibly get.
