2v2 Faceoff - End of Round Eight
Round 8 ended on Sunday 26th October 5pm EST / 10pm GMT
Round 9 will end on Sunday the 2nd November at 5pm EST / 10pm GMT
Round 9 matches have now been posted in your respective Group Sub-Boards
Remember - You play 3 matches - 1 Match on each of the 3 gametypes
Round Eight saw some of the toughest competition so far as the last parallel LB and WB matches went down. Those who won their WB matches can rest in relative ease for one more week, confident of their place in the group finals, AKA Round Ten. The poor souls who gave them the unwitting leg up will have to fight it out again this week to get a shot at vengeance. This final struggle to stay in the group stages not being toil enough, the LB teams' collective minds weigh heavy with the knowledge that, even after a win in this round, they will have to beat the sole WB team twice if they want to be the sole survivors of their group and make an appearance in the quarter finals.
Start of Round Nine
Round Nine will be the last Loser Bracket only round, saving a possible rematch of the group finals if the LB team win. Boasting only a single match per group, round 9 is sure to be full of tight competition, as teams fight it out for the chance to go into the group finals, a swift exit from the tournament being all that awaits the losing teams this round:
Only the losers bracket will play this week (round 9), giving the winners bracket a week off before the group final matches.
Amalgam (below) will be played again this week, and Credence (below) has now been released, giving both brackets ample time to practice for round 10.
And remember, if you're stuck with anything, be sure to check out our tournament FAQ.
Amalgam (Round 9 map)
The first real breakthrough to come from the LHC at CERN, Amalgam is the result of two maps by NeverlessWonder, namely Troika and Exacted, being smashed together at colossal speed. More comparable to Yukon Canyon than any other tournament map so far in terms of scale, you should seriously consider studying the BR locations carefully. Including Troika's coveted fish-tank, don't let Amalgam's sights draw you from the game. Things are starting to heat up.

Credence (Round 10 map)
As far as aesthetics go, Credence has the upper hand on most maps. The large, imposing arches, and elegant and seamless walls along with the awe-inspiring stair-wall create a relatively natural, organic feel, a feat that is difficult to accomplish in the bland warehouse that is foundry.
Gameplay-wise, Credence is not one to disappoint. The looming arches are more than just a nice touch, they provide strategic cover for those on the run from a BR fight, or others who have just come out of one victorious.
