2v2 Faceoff - End of Round Seven
Round 7 ended Sunday 19th October 5pm EST / 10pm GMT
Round 8 will end on Sunday 26th October 5pm EST / 10pm GMT
Remember - You play 3 matches - 1 Match on each of the 3 gametypes
Eclipse has gone about its business with style to bring round 7 to a close. With only 2 teams left in each bracket its not long to go until only one team remain standing within each group. Round 8 is the last week where both the WB and LB will play, and you might want to watch the WB in particular to see who will go through into the group finals. The tension is rising rapidly as the group stages draw to a close and it won't be long until only the best 8 teams remain to fight it out for the final victory.
Start of Round Eight
Round Eight matches have now been posted in your group sub-board
This round brings only 1 match in each bracket per group, so you should all be familiar with the format by now, but here's a quick recap just incase:
Both the winners and losers brackets will play this week (round 8)
Only the losers bracket will play the following week (round 9), giving the winners bracket a week off
Amalgam (below) will be played both weeks, with the next map being released on the 26th of October, giving both brackets a week to practice for round 10.
And remember, if you're stuck with anything, be sure to check out our tournament FAQ.
Amalgam
The first real breakthrough to come from the LHC at CERN, Amalgam is the result of two maps by NeverlessWonder, namely Troika and Exacted, being smashed together at colossal speed. More comparable to Yukon Canyon than any other tournament map so far in terms of scale, you should seriously consider studying the BR locations carefully. Including Troika's coveted fish-tank, don't let Amalgam's sights draw you from the game. Things are starting to heat up.
