Friday Night Fight

This was our 6th bi-weekly FNF, we challenge the gaming clan, the Praetoria Guard. Both TheYavimayan and TrueDarkFusion used to call the PG website home before leaving Halo 2. Well we decided to give a nice little hello to some old friends. The PG chose the 1st and 3rd map while we chose the 2nd map to mix things up a bit. After the warm up match we were ready... To get our asses kicked... They are a clan after all, right?

Team Hammar

  • TrueDarkFusion - Got killed by a cone...

  • TheYavimayan - Plays too much Bejeweled

  • Penguinish - Refused to make a FNF recap vid

  • Insane54 - Had to go somewhere? Lies, he quits!

  • FinalCutMin - Replaced Insane with pure Webdev win

Praetoria Guard

  • HeroicOdy - Halo 3 > party going on around him

  • Achilles1986 - Killed TDF with a cone...

  • El Chupacabra 8 - Should be using Fingers of the Mountain in FFXI: Online

  • Dojorkan - Thinks he can be a Spartan and an Elite

"Cones hurt"

Game 1: B/R Starts on The Pit

The Praetoria Guard doesn't follow Forge much so naturally the first map they selected was not one made in Forge. None the less we agreed to partake in their games. Unfortunately their games were of a competitive flavor. The game started off rough when TrueDarkFusion was so mercifully killed by Achilles with a traffic cone. From there things went down hill. The players for Team Hammar weren't too apt with Battle Rifles, and the PG seemed to know their game. They are a clan after all right?

Anyways long story short, we lost, badly. It is a bad sign if TDF has the most kills.

Overall Tone: Coneage!
Score: 100-52, PG Wins

Game 2: TNT Polo

Well now it was our turn. After the devastating loss on The Pit, we figured we would switch it up a bit. Team Hammar opted to go with TNT Polo due to its obvious lack of traffic cones. The choice was well made. PG is an organized pack of wolves when it comes to competitive gametypes, but when it comes to casual games they are a pile of kittens sucking on their mother's teet. The game was fast, and we played hard. Five quicks coil scores and it was all over!

The PG squad went down fast and hard on this one. It was up to the 3rd match to determine the winner.

Tone: Explosive!
Score: 5-0, Team Hammar Wins!

Game 3: 1 Flag on Highground

And then there was more competitive gameplay to be had... Naturally we knew we didn't stand much of a chance at the beginning of this one, but we gave it a shot anyways. The first two rounds were not happy rounds. The PG brought some hard pwnage and unfortunately captured a flag towards the end of round 1. Our turn at offense was fruitless so we were pretty conceited going into round 3. For once we fought hard and help PG back for a round, our hope had returned. Maybe we actually had a chance to tie the game! Or maybe not... Our attempt to capture the flag was once again fruitless.

Seems the PG was able to hold us back again and prevent us from making it a tie match.

Tone: Oh Shit!
Score: 1-0, PG Wins

Overall Score: 2-1, PG Wins the Challenge

Unfortunately the Praetoria Guard's Squad won the challenge against Team Hammar, but we fought hard despite our futile attempts. Well at least we had fun. We would like to thank the PG for accepting our last minute challenge since we were originally suppose to play the MiniMods, but they didn't show up. Good game guys!
