Relic is back! Artifact, a remix of Halo 2's Relic, is my first official forge map! I always loved Relic because it was great for team snipers, CTF, and the central spire was very symbolic of Halo 2. I have always loved the idea of playing on an island, and I figured I would try my hand at making a Relic remix! This map is not a 100% accurate remake...however, it is more of a remix. I believe it maintains the spirit of Relic, containing that iconic spire and several other familiar parts of the map. Other parts of the map, however, also draw inspiration from Delta Halo and The Silent Cartographer (my favorite Halo campaign areas of all time). The center structure also has some doorways and architecture reminiscent of the Halo 3 map, Sandtrap, another classic favorite! Some terrain areas are quite different from the original Relic map, and they are based on tropical islands and areas from The Silent Cartographer and Delta Halo. I did this to add more cover and concealment, promoting more dynamic infantry play, but still allowing for great sniper matches and that classic ghost/warthog duel! It is my hope that you will experience that Halo 2 nostalgia and smile as you play on a map that is both refreshing and familiar! And oh, the teleporters can be turned on just like the original, and the spire lights change colors ;)
